My husband has a cold and like most men he is a big whiner when he gets one.
His nose was all plugged up and he could not sleep well. There were other things that went along with this cold but the not being able to sleep well was the main concern. If he cant sleep well then I cant sleep either.
I had received a sample of the Breathe Rite Nasal Strips in the mail. Probably from a free sample site that I frequent. I dont know, all I know is it was here and he was my guinea pig. They sent me a small to medium and a medium to large sample. I did not know that they were different samples when I plopped it on his nose. It was not until I went to get the second and last sample that I realized that they had sent me two different sizes.
I have to be honest and tell you that I did not think that these would actually work. They are like sticking a bandaid across the bridge of your nose. They helped him almost immediately. He was as surprised as well as me.
What I like about these: They work and they are drug free. Along with stopping snoring they relieve nasal congestion due to cold and allergies.
When you reduce the congestion it reduces the snoring.
How they work: It sez on the box that two flexible spring like pieces lift congested nasal passages open while a special adhesive holds the strip comfortably in place.
They claim that size is important, if you are using it for an adult or adolescent that has a small nose, you will want to buy the package that fits small to medium. If you are buying it for an adult that has a larger nose (like my husband) then you will want to buy the medium to large size. They just have the two sizes so far. None for an extra large nose.
There are some warnings on the box, for people that are allergic to adhesive, they may not be able to wear these. If you break out in a rash you should stop wearing them. You should not wear them for over 12 hours a day. They are for single use only.
I would highly recommend these for anyone that has a cold. The cold and allergy season is here. As soon as my husband saw how well these worked he ran to Walgreens and bought a box of these. They come in a package of 12 for around 5.00.
For people that are on medications that limit the types of medication that they can take when they get a cold and stuffed up nose. These are really ideal.
