Pros: housekeeping staff tries to keep up with things, well-kept grounds for age of property
Cons: poor management, poor attitude, cheap food, roach problem, rat problem, run- down facilities and rooms
The Bottom Line: Avoid like the plague. They only want your money and then fail to provide the quality of services of which you thought you bought into..

(I will post more in a couple of days as I am very busy at the moment, but wanted to get a warning out to everyone as soon as possible.)
Recently, went their with my wife for our anniversary trip. Many of the property's advertised amenities and services were no longer available. The hot tubs/jacuzzi were always filthy and almost always cold. We stayed in the 3000 block and on every night we saw large roaches scurrying around the bottom floor, near the stairs. There was a rat on the second floor of the 3000 block that was getting into rooms and food.
The management showed on many occasions that they did not care about Americans or the American guests.
Also, Jamaica's tourism has plummeted in the last year which has seen an unprecedented rise in crime of every kind! Make no mistake about it, even the staff at Runaway Bay were trying to sell us things (on the side) obviously because the lack of money. If you leave the property you will be constantly bombarded with Jamaicans attempting to sell you something. Even on the beach, which is suppose to be private.. the security let locals actually swim out to guests who were trying to snorkel and try to sell them conch shells.. UNBELIVIABLE! The security did on most occasions stop the hawkers from wandering around on the beach trying to sell you stuff, but not always.
