Pros: Lots of stuff for the beach bunnies and the active vacationer
Cons: Children from FDR next door
The Bottom Line: I would recommend Breezes because it is not to expensive and there is lots to do for a variety of different vacationers.

My husband and I decided to get away from the cold in Chicago and go to Jamaica for our delayed honeymoon. We went from 12/15/02 to 12/31/02. We stayed at Breezes in Runaway Bay for most of the trip and spent the last two nights in a dive in St. Anns.
The good:
Room - Our room was very nice. They all come with balconies, TVs, a safe for your valuables, iron and ironing board, and a bolted down CD player. There are several different views outside of the rooms depending on which room you get. We were right above the reading sanctuary and the jungle. Both were nice sights and we would still see the bar and some of the ocean from our room.
Beach and Jacuzzis - The beaches are beautiful and clean. We walked off the premises to some of the local shops down the beach and the beaches were not as clean. So I can tell the resort spends some effort to keep the beach area nice.
There is a nude beach and Jacuzzi. The nude beach is kind of small but for the majority of our trip it was enough. Initially we were the only ones using it. But as it got closer to Christmas and New Years Eve more people came to the resort and more people used the nude areas.
There are several other Jacuzzis around the resort, some very public some more hidden. There is only one nude Jacuzzi and it is well hidden so anyone can be comfortable in it.
Activities - There is a lot to do for those who like to be active and for those who are more relaxed. I did a lot of laying around, playing in the game rooms, reading, eating and drinking. I did a little sailing and tried to learn to wind surf. My husband on the other hand got to do more sailing, go trained and went scuba diving and went snorkeling. There is so much to do you do not get bored very quickly.
Other - You can walk into St. Anns and get a public bus or taxi to take you to some of the other areas on the island.
The Bad:
Room - We could not set the clock in our room. We finally had to call someone from the hotel to do. Apparently we had it easy. Some other guests got the hotel to set their clock but the clock kept resetting itself and blinking even after the staff set it.
Beach and Jacuzzis - There is a family resort right beside Breezes and right beside the nude beach. I was a little uncomfortable about the children from next door coming over walking past the nude beach. I got over it quickly, especially after seeing children in the ocean right along side nude adults. If their parents did not mind them being there why should I.
Activities - The scuba training provided by the resort only certifies you to scuba wit the guide at the resort and during the trip in which you got certified. So if we go back next month, my husband would have to do the scuba training all over again.
Other - The hotel charges a lot for transportation to other places. We found it more economical to walk into the nearest town St. Anns and get a public bus or share a taxi with some locals.
Overall I had a good time, but after 16 days in Jamaica, I was ready to go home. The worst part of the trip was getting home. Apparently they dont have rechargeable batteries in Jamaica. I got stopped 3 times in the airport because I had a large batter recharge in my suitcase. That was after the 2-hour ride to the airport and the 30-minute stand in the check in line.
I would recommend bringing an umbrella. It rained 6 days out of the 16 that we were there. It was not a big problem (especially since I like the rain) but you might want to be prepared.
