I received the Breville Juice Fountain Plus JE98XL as a gift a month ago. I've been searching for a juicer for quite some time and my main criteria was how easy it was to clean. My friend who owned a juicer did not user hers very often because it was a hassle to clean. After researching juicer functionalities, I knew that ease of maintenance number one on my must haves. I was happy that the top part of the Breville Juicer came apart and can easily be cleaned on the top rack of the dish washer. It is also easy to clean by a simple rinse under the water tap.

The Breville Juicer has a 850 watt motor with two speed, hi and low. I normally use the low setting as most of the produce I juice are soft. I tried the carot/orange/beet juice for a test run both the hi and low setting. I was amazed at the amount of juice it got out of the carots and beet. The mechanism is fairly simple. A plastic dish is attached on top of the motor with a removable grater in the middle that spins and creates a centrifuge. The juice is spun out though the spout of the bottom dish and the leftovers are spun into a recipient next to the machine. With the clear plastic cover with food pusher, you can easily insert your fruits or vegetables into the feed chute and push everything down to the grater. The Breville Juicer comes with a 1 litre juice jug and lid that accomodates the spout of the juicer. The whole process is quite easy and clean. Though the instruction manual says that you can use a mug or glass to receive the juice, I do not recommend it. The juice does not just  flow into the glass, it actually spurts out. It got quite messy as I had juice all over the counter, on the machine and every thing around it.

Overall, the Breville juicer is a good machine. It does what it is suppose to. This is my first juicer, so I do not have anything to compare it with, but so far, I love it. There are other Breville models with stainless steel bodies which are triple or quadruple the price and has more function than the JE98XL, but for what I wanted, which is fresh juice, it's great.
