Pros: Cleans up pretty well, kids love the juice-this effectively gets vegetables into my kids.
Cons: The pitcher gets discolored, the sheen is gone, expect to scrub parts after juicing
The Bottom Line: As my first juicer I was skeptical. My family wouldn't drink what appeared to be sewage. But after tasting the juices we all became fans.

I've been using my juicer for about a year, and use it about once a week. We love the first recipe in the book, carrots, celery, apples, the first recipe I made. While apprehensive at first because of the juice appearance and the separation that happens, the taste is great. We nicknamed this drink "Daddy Juice" because I make it all the time.
The motor is powerful and doesn't easily get bogged down. The pitcher is too small for cranking through a lot of produce - you will empty the pitcher into a larger one or spill at least once until you learn to watch for it. I never had the problem with the leaking seal that others here identified as an issue.
Don't expect juicing to always be cost effective. A raw pineapple costs about $3 here and juiced with the Breville generates about a pint of juice, while 2 Quarts can be had at the grocery store for the same price.
Preping for juicing, and cleaning up the Breville I found to be a bit messy - the counter top is always covered with water at the end of the process. Part of this is my insistence to wash the fruits and vegetables before juicing and that leads to water dripping on the counter. The Breville folks say you have to clean the basket right away or the pulp gets lodged in the basket and is hard to get out. So once I have the water running to scrub the basket, I go ahead and rinse out the other pieces and let them dry on the counter. Hence the water on the counter.
I started noticing the pulp was coming out wet and the yield appeared to be lower. After making "Daddy Juice", (4 carrots, 4 celery stalks, 3 Granny Smith apples), I notices the wire mesh was clogged so much that when I filled it with water, hardly any water leaked out. So how could juice make its way through?
So I called Breville and they said that the recommended change time for the basket is every 6 months! The replacement basket for the 800JEXL is like $70 plus shipping, on a Breville I paid about $250 for. So I did an experiment.
I bought a new Breville 800JEXL juicer and pulled the basket out. I measured two identical sets of ingredients:
3 Granny Smith Apples: .68 Kg
4 carrots: .31 Kg
4 stalks celery: .3 Kg
and I juiced them with the old basket:
After juicing the celery, the juicer yielded 225 ml
After adding the carrots, the juicer measured 425 ml
After adding the apples, the juicer yielded 725 ml
I photographed the basket, clogged as before. I cleaned the pieces, and installed the new basket.
With the BRAND NEW basket:
After juicing the celery, the juicer yielded 225 ml
After adding the carrots, the juicer measured 425 ml
After adding the apples, the juicer yielded 725 ml
! IDENTICAL !
Conclusion from the Daddy Juice study
--------------------------------------
So, don't go buying a brand new replacement basket just because it clogs up and you THINK you are not getting the yield you should.
