I first bought this grinder at Walmart and didn't flinch when it was $30, a bit more than it's competitors. I took it home, put the coffee beans in, and away it went. Perfect!

I've NEVER had a clog, never had any sort of problem with it and I've owned it for 6 years now, making coffee twice a day.
I recently bought a 2nd one from amazon.com for only $9, in case the original ever gives up the ghost (not likely).

Notes:
1) It is a relatively loud grinder, probably due to the durable commercial like motor inside.
2) You might gently tilt it side to side while grinding to help the beans find the grind hole, but this is not necessary at all.
3) I perform a medium grind for a drip Bunn coffee maker, so I don't know if it can make perfect coffee powder as some reviewers seem to want.
4) Eventually the finer coffee particles cling to the top section of the clear plastic collection cup. Clean it off or leave it on (as I do), after it builds up a simple swipe with your finger removes it.
5) The power cord is neatly hidden around the base and it's so compact that storing it is a non-issue.
6) It never spits out coffee, never making your countertop a mess.
6) I'm so sad Salton only makes an inferior product now for the under $30 crowd and has discontinued this item.
