The Bottom Line: Great water bottle to take anywhere, it's portable, filters water instantly, makes tap water taste great, and would be handy to take especially when traveling.

| Naomi7835's Full Review: Brita Fill & Go Water Filtration Bottle |
Before I fill you in about the new look I gave my Brita Fill@Go Water Bottle, let me first explain a little about the bottle. I purchased this Brita water bottle a month ago at Wal-Mart for $6.44. The filters can be purchased for about $4.99 for 2. As I said in one of my recent reviews, I'm trying to walk everyday for health reasons and I'm trying to lose a few pounds also. I'm also trying to get in at least 8 glasses of water daily. So when I spotted this Brita water bottle, I figured why not get one to carry while I'm walking around our school walking track. And I'm really glad I did.
It's a blue and white plastic squeeze sports bottle, which comes with a filter and a sheet with easy instructions on how to use.
Instructions on how to use:
1--First unscrew the large blue cap and remove the filter from inside the bottle.
2--Wash the bottle and the caps in warm water with a mild detergent, rinse and dry thoroughly. Do not wash the filter and do not wash the bottle in a dishwasher, as it is not dishwasher safe.
3--Insert the filter into the small hole in the large blue cap. Now I found this a little hard to do, but I finally did manage to get it in.
4--Screw the push/pull cap into the large blue cap to lock the filter in place and tighten firmly.
5--Fill the bottle with tap water to about 1 inch from the rim.
6--Screw the large cap with filter onto the bottle and tighten firmly.
7--Pull the spout up and squeeze the full bottle of water through the filter to remove any black carbon. I did this 2 times to make sure, but you really only have to do it once.
8--Refill the bottle with water. You now have instant filtered water to drink. By placing your mouth to the bottle, you can suck the water through or just squeeze the water bottle to get the water out. You now have instant filtered water.
The activated filter will not purify your water, but will filter it to reduce chlorine, bad tastes and odors from your water.
The filter is good for up to 15 gallons of water or should be replaced every 2 to 3 months. Of course this depends on your water usage.
Before I fill the bottle with water, sometimes I will crush a few ice cubes and put them in the bottle. It helps to keep the water cold. The bottle will hold up to 24 ounces of water.
It comes with a filter date reminder sticker that can be placed onto the bottle. It's a date reminder that will let you know when the filter should be changed. After using the bottle for a while, I noticed the sticker was starting to loosen up on the bottle. So I took it off. I now keep a reminder on my refrigerator so I know when it's time to change the filter.
Never freeze the filter or the bottle.
Storing:
Before storing, empty the water from the bottle and loosen the blue cap to prevent odors. After long periods of non-use always wash the bottle and caps with soapy water, before using again. Never wash the filter.
~~Warning~~
The bottle should not be used by children under the age of 5 unless supervised by an adult.
My 13 year old grandson last week happen to see my Brita bottle in my car. He then started to hint to me about how he would love to have one. He had joined our Pop Warner Football team a few weeks ago, and thought that it would be nice to take when he had football practice. So being the good grandmother that I am, I went to Wal-Mart and bought one for him also.
Ok so here's what I did to my Brita Bottle to give it a new look. I noticed the bottle would sometimes sweat while I was out doing my walking. So I just got a wrist sweat band and stretched it around the bottle. This way it was easy to handle, and I knew it wouldn't slip out of my hands while I was walking. Hey, I thought this was a pretty clever idea LOL. And it now sports a new look also.
I am used to filtered water, because some time ago I purchased a Brita Water Pitcher. It's not only nice to be able to have filtered water in my home, but I can also have filtered water outside of my home too.
I found it to be very portable, leak proof, easy to use, and very durable. So whether you walk like I do, work out in a gym, go biking or hiking, for sports, or just want to have one in your car, consider one of these Brita Fill@Go Water Filtration Bottles. It's just sooo easy to Fill@Go.
