| rainangel's Full Review: Brita Fill & Go Water Filtration Bottle |
I believe that drinking an adequate amount of water is important to my health, so I've had a Brita filtration pitcher for years. As soon as I found out that I was pregnant, I promised myself that I would drink extra water every day. But I soon found that having constant access to water can be difficult and expensive.
Buying bottled water seemed like a waste of money, but I justified this by refilling the empty bottles with filtered water from my refrigerator. This worked for a while until I would run out while away from home. Then I had no alternative but to buy more bottled water or get a cup of ice water from a fast food place. Neither option was convenient for me.
On day, I was complaining about my problem to my husband, and he suggested the Brita Fill & Go Bottle. I had no idea that Brita made a portable filtration system, but I was excited to try it. I paid approximately $6 for the bottle and starter filter, and it has been a life saver!
Its first advantage is its portability. I take it everywhere I go...to the grocery store, out for walks, anywhere I think I might not have immediate access to water. As any pregnant woman can tell you, sometimes an absolutely desperate need for water overcomes us, and we must have water now!!
The bottle is small enough to fit into my purse and easy to carry if I just want to take it along with me without my purse. The only con I've noticed is that it doesn't have a strap or handle to carry it with. I usually just tie a bandana around the top and use it as a handle. On the up side, the bottle is very durable, so if you do happen to drop it, it should be fine.
Another advantage is the simple fact that it is a filtration system, not just a water bottle. This means that even if you run out of water, you can always refill the bottle with water straight from the tap, even if you normally wouldn't drink the water unfiltered. This frees me to refill my bottle at the mall, at an outside tap, or any other place that might not normally offer the best quality of water. And the water always tastes great.
When can you tell that it's time to replace the filter? Easy! The filtration system comes with an easy-to-read sticker that attaches to the outside of the bottle. You'll always know when it's time to buy a new filter.
