My experience with the Gigabyte Triton Case
This case was purchased as the foundation for a replacement PC. My last desktop was a hand me down Compaq that I merged with components from my previous desktop computer. It was old from the start. The goal for the new machine was to create something that was expandable and would last a reasonable amount of time. In regard to cases, the Gigabyte Triton met my all my needs.
First, the price was reasonable. At about $70 US, it is not going to break the bank. Yes there are cheaper cases out there. And yes, I used the word cheaper on purpose. This is a quality case with a lot of nice features.
I spend a lot of time tinkering with the machines that I use, so the ability to swap components is a big plus. The Triton has a toolless design so addition and removing a hard drive, DVD drive, etc. is a snap. When I experienced a recent drive problem, it took me minutes to pull the drive and install a replacement.
Speaking of tinkering and components, this case has plenty of room inside. You do not have to be a contortionist to add drives, cards, etc. The design was well throughout with fans that provide excellent cooling to your vital components.
If your house is dusty like ours, the ability to quickly clean the interior of your computer is extremely important. The side of Triton case simply slides off once you have removed two thumb screws. NICE!!
Regarding ports, there are two USB ports, a firewire Port, a microphone jack, and a headphone jack on the front of the case.
Before I purchased this case, I read that some people had problems with sharp edges in the case. I have never had a problem and it really does not seem like something of real concern from my experience.
The only thing that was lacking was an external SATA port not a real issue. I picked up an ESATA card for about $12 and installation was a snap.
Just a quick note, my case is black, I think it was a far more elegant choice. It also does not have a clear side panel mentioned in the description on Eopinions (no loss as far as I am concerned).
All things considered, this is the best computer case I have ever worked on or owned. It is roomy, quiet, and reasonably priced.
