When my youngest son turned 9 months old he outgrew his infant carrier. At this point he was not old enough to face forward but in his infant carrier his feet would touch the back seat. I did an extensive internet search on the safety and consumer reviews of all brands of convertible car seats from the least expensive to the most expensive. Money was not really a concern of mine due to the fact that I wanted the safest seat that I could use the longest. I finally decided on the Britax Marathon. This in my opinion is the safest convertible seat out there and will carry my son until he is old enough for a booster seat. I feel that my son is most importantly safe and very comfortable in this seat. He never complains about getting in his seat ( he is now 17 months old and facing forward) I do not worry about him sliding from side to side because when the seat is hooked in correctly with the latch system there is no moving! I feel I made the best choice by choosing this particular carseat. It is definitly worth the price to have peace of mind when my son is in the car. My son is particularly tall for his age and another option this seat comes with that i am fond of is the seat adjustment positions. I feel like this seat is the safest, will be with us for a long time and the most comfortable.
