jerirose's Full Review: Brother MFC-5860CN All-In-One InkJet Printer
Purchased my Multi-Function Center® MFC-5860CN InkJet Printer mainly for the price and features. I use it for my home business and our children use for homework. It gets a fair amount of usage, although we use a laser printer for all our large non-color print jobs.
The print quality is only fair and I am unable to run card-stock in the upper tray and even then it will still jam while using card-stock in the bottom tray. The document feeder seems to work fine for copying and faxing.
The Multi-Function Center® MFC-5860CN InkJet Printer's construction is not very substantial. To remove most paper jams, one has to take off the access panel on the back of the machine. I find the location of this panel inconvenient. Also, this back panel is made of thin plastic which makes it tricky to get back on sometimes.
I do like having separate color cartridges to save on cost. I purchase my ink cartridges on the Internet and save considerable $ over the local store prices.
This printer is not for folks who are looking for a printer to print photos. It's fine for reports, homework, non-professional quality print jobs.
The Multi-Function Center® MFC-5860CN InkJet Printer is very easy to set-up and use. I do love its ease and simplicity. It's compact and inexpensive to run and maintain.
