fudge_brownie's Full Review: Brother P-Touch 2100VP Thermal Label Printer
<a>This is my third Brother P-touch labeler; I also have a QL-500. The particular model in question is a PT-2100. This is the second unit of the PT-2100 I purchased, the first unit was purchased last week and I sent it back.
I returned it because I could not read the screen. I plugged the unit in via AC power; to see the image on the screen it was necessary to pick up the unit and tilt it in such a way to read what it said. Can you imagine the difficulty typing while holding the unit at an angle to view the LCD. To make sure I am not losing my vision I just turned the unit on and asked my spouse to read the screen, the first thing she did was pick the unit up and tilt the screen to see what it said. Her comment was "that’s crazy - how can you type"
I give up with this model; it looks like I am out the return shipping for both units. What makes this one so bad? I have excellent readability on my other two models of P-touch.
The second unit I purchased had exactly the same issues. I am familiar with the setup and have gone in and tried a number of contrast settings to no avail. I also reset the unit to factory settings following the directions in the user manual.
