nagels's Full Review: Brush Kill Ready To Use Gal.
Spud Acres was once awash in poison ivy, from front to back, from corner to corner. So prevalent and thick was that noxious weed that in some areas one could almost swim in a green sea of ivy, its dangers not obvious to the unaware. Not wanting to use gallons of powerful, and residual herbicides on our property, I pulled up great quantities of the ivy manually. Despite every precaution, I fell victim to the ivy's revenge with a hideous red rash and an unbearable itching on my being. Today scattered remnants of the poison ivy still survive on Spud Acres but in a much more manageable quantity. Not wanting to tempt fate or invite more skin misery, I decided this year to go the spray way and hopefully say bye-bye ivy as the ivy leaves.
When I use a product that purports to be a cide, I like to see it cide quickly before my eyes or at least weaken or wilt the target soon after contact. My first wave of attack on the undesirables was with a product called Ortho Basic, a bargain purchase from Ollie's Bargain store. After a week I witnessed a slight decrease in green, nothing more. Most of the sprayees seemed just as vigorous as prespray and mocked me with renewed growth. It was time to bring out the big gun, the Bonide.
Bonide Poison Ivy and Brush Killer BK-32
Bonide Brush Killer comes in ready to use formula and concentrate in either 32 ounce or gallon sizes. I prefer the ready to use formulas because I find toxic herbicides daunting and wish to handle them as little as possible. The smaller sizes have a sprayer lid installed, while the consumer replaces the standard lid of the gallon sized jug with a spray cap, an easy enough task.
Poison Ivy and Brush Killer BK-32 contains MCPA, Triclopyr, and Dicamba. The label is filled with dire warnings and cautions. Take them seriously and treat this product with care and respect. A herbicide that kills weeds so easily is not something to take lightly.
Claimed benefits: Kills even the toughest brush, vines, and broadleaf weeds including: poison ivy, poison oak, kudzu, blackberry, raspberry, salmonberry, willow, Virginia creeper, alder, ash, beech, trumpet creeper, vine maple, and choke cherry. Starts working on contact Kills to the root This product can be used safely on most lawns, but should not be used on carpetgrass, dichondra, or on lawns where desirable clover is present.
KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN AND PETS. When using this product, wear gloves and make every precaution to avoid skin and eye contact. It's advisable not to use Brush Killer on a windy day to prevent drifting and unwanted contact with non target plants. Bonide Brush Killer is not available for sale in AK, CA, DC, and HI.

My Experience
My intended targets were and are the poison ivy plants scattered about woody sections of my property and persistent weeds growing in the gravel driveway. I did not try to kill lawn weeds because where my lawn is supposed to be I'm happy to have anything green grow, except for poison ivy.
I sprayed poison ivy plants under various lighting conditions in different locations. Most of the plants were earthbound, and some were climbing the rail fence or pine trees. Though the product label advises the user to expect to see visible results within days, I saw significant wilting and shrinkage within hours. Death is not instantaneous for the heinous poison ivy plants unfortunately. They'll linger in a weakened state for weeks before totally succumbing to the herbicide. I'm pleased that I see the effects of the Bonide soon after spraying; thus I know it's working.
While on my mission to eradicate poison ivy from Spud Acres, I sprayed other types of weeds too. So far all have succumbed to the very effective Bonide Poison Ivy and Brush Killer.
Finally - I only use herbicides as a last resort because they can harm desirable plants, pets, and wildlife. For judicious and specifically targeted use, I highly recommend Bonide Brush Killer.
And -
Using an old paint brush and old tooth brush, I discovered that Bonide had no deleterious effect on either type of brush.
