If you love fish and the heart-wrenching "Forest Gump" movie, then you'll love Bubba Gump's Restaurant and Market.
I have visited Bubba Gump's Restaurant and Market in New Orleans and Hawaii. Both visit's were very enjoyable and let's not forget delicious!
While at Bubba Gump's, I enjoyed the memorabilia from the movie "Forest Gump". Signs like "Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get" were hung around, along with Dr. Pepper bottles, fish nets and pictures of different scenes in the movie. The atmosphere is fast paced and always "on the run", In fact, to get your waiter/waitresses attention there are metal signs on the tables, reading "Run Forest Run" or "Stop Forest Stop". I thought that it was a clever and efficient way, to keep the place running effectively!
Bubba Gump’s' has a wide variety of food available. From Hamburgers to Mahi Mahi, it’s all there. If you are a vegetarian, there are many delicious salads to suit your needs. If you are a true carnivore, steak is also available to control your famished appetite. When you visit Bubba Gump's, be sure to try the “Run Across America Sampler” Appetizer. It is sure to hit the spot, even if you don't like seafood. The sampler comes with chips and dip, chicken tenders, chilled shrimp and "Mama Blue's fried shrimp".
There were so many entrees to pick from, at Bubba Gump’s. I had to narrow it down. As a main dish I ordered, A BBQ pork sandwich. The pork was slow roasted and bathed in a sweet, tangy BBQ sauce and sautéed onions. It was compiled on a soft, sesame seed bun. Garnished with sizzlin' fries and coleslaw. All in all, the food was terrific and quenched every craving!
My entire meal came to about $15. I thought that it was completely reasonable, considering all the terrific food I got!
The service was also great. There was never a time I went without a full glass of Diet Coke. The service is friendly and willing to help you with anything you need.
The only downfall, I found, at Bubba Gump's was the wait. I waited for over a half an hour to be seated. The hostesses were very pleasant and served me with a menu to start narrowing down my decision.
Bubba Gump’s is not found everywhere, so if you have the opportunity, try it! You won’t be sorry!
