Bud is probably the product that gave rise to the concept that "beer is beer". It's brewed in a number of different locations in the US and the world, so it's consistent. It's taste was formed by committee, meaning it doesn't really have a unique taste. Enough about damning it with faint praise. Nothing's better when it's time to set in for a long afternoon of drinking beer in the hot summer sun. It's even temper and consistency means that you can keep on hammering them down. It doesn't require a sophisticated palette or a sensitive nose to be a Bud Man. A strong bladder and a designated driver are the only real necessities.
In short, Bud is a drinker's beer. It goes with anything at any time. It is a testament to American mass production. Give the people what they want (or what they'll tolerate) at a good price and they'll beat your door down. That's why Bud is the number one seller. Tolerable beer at $10 per case!
