We lived here 8 years (S.NH) without seeing any slugs, then all of a sudden last year there were some which we battled with a spray.  We are wondering where did they come from?  My theory is they came from a mulch delivery, we had new mulch spread in summer 2008 and thats when they started showing up.

Then this summer (2009) we had a major slug infestation probably due to the rains.  One morning I killed as many as 200 with amonia and water spray, but yet they just kept coming.  We finally decided to try this Ortho Bug-Geta product and we were amazed!!  After weeks of trying to battle the slugs on our own, we are finally winning the war!!  We put this product down sparingly everywhere we had previously saw slugs and put down a few bigger piles in the garden.  Then we slept and next morning it was like a bomb went off and splattered the lil sluggers everywhere.  There were slime soaked trails and dead slugs all over.  :-)  The only good slug is a dead slug!  Check on the link below for some fun pics!!

UPDATE:  It rained again last night and this morning I could barely find any slugs around, the ones I did find seemed to be dying or dead!  Love this product.  We will reapply some of this again when the rain lets up this week.
