I researched strollers for a long time knowing that it would be the main mode of transport for my child. We live in the city and rarely use a car, so the stroller had to be comfortable and durable. (I personally think it is the only way to go if you live in the city but I'm not convinced it is worth the money if you live in the 'burbs or a place where your child is rarely in a stroller.)

The Bugaboo has proven a fabulous investment. As a bassinet, my daughter was comfortable and protected from the sun and wind. We even took it onto the beach, thanks to the rugged rear wheels, and she was protected from blowing sand. The rear tires help it climb stairs so it is easy to get in and out of walk up apartment buildings.

As a seat, the three reclining positions have been great and I like that she can face forward or backward. The stroller also seems much more compact as a seat than it did as a bassinet.

It has an amazing turning radius that makes every other stroller seem incredibly clunky and difficulty to navigate.

It's a great ride for the person pushing it as well - shock is absorbed by the frame, which makes bumpy brick sidewalks less of a hassle. It goes up and down curbs with not problem, over snow and ice easily, and is easy to keep clean.

My nanny, who has used basically every top of the line stroller with her various clients, says the Bugaboo is by far the best and the one she'll choose when she has kids.

The accessories that I've found useful are the backpack, umbrella and travel bag.
The backpack attaches perfectly onto the frame, saving your arms and back from carrying extra weight.
The umbrella is a must as the the canopy doesn't always provide enough shade in the summer.
If you plan to travel a lot and check the Bugaboo, the travel bag is a must - it's expensive but it keeps the stroller contained and protected and after what you've just spent, you will want to be sure it's not going to get too banged up on an airplane.

The foot muff looks nice but I've been using the Bundle Me which I had received as a gift - works fine and costs a lot less.

The only thing I was really annoyed by was the high price tags on the accessories. I thought charging $12 for shopping bag hooks was a bit chintzy after charging $700 for the stroller. And I've found that I don't need them anyway since I have the backpack diaper bag and I can attach shopping bags with the velcro straps that hold the backpack to the frame.
The travel bag cost $125 but we had 2 different friends have bad experiences with the airlines tossing their Bugaboos around and getting damaged. Gate checking is not easy since the stroller isn't the easiest to put through security and gate checking doesn't really keep the stroller any more protected. So it was worth it to get the travel bag.
(I did break down and buy an umbrella stroller for the airport so I didn't have to carry my daughter from the check in counter all the way through security and down to the plane. Also - If you plan on having a second child quickly and require a two-seater stroller, it might not be worth the money.)

Read all the instructions carefully - it is second nature once you get to know it, but a bit complicated at first. Also, note that the instructions are written in British-English and therefore refer to velcro as "hook and loop fasteners" which can be confusing if you don't know what they are talking about.
