I'm surprised that your son didn't like Build-a-Bear. My son LOVES it. (4 dogs, a cat, and 2 bears later... as well as hockey outfits with matching accessories [hockey puck, stick, skates, etc], policeman outfits, fireman outfits, army guy outfits, spiderman outfits [and accessories to go with those as well]... oh, I could go on forever !!).
As for the "stuff for stuff" bucks, that has changed since 2000... but only slightly. They no longer "stamp" a card. It's "computerized" now. You can register at the store, or on line, and every time you buy something, you give them your card (kind of like grocery store perks cards or pharmacy perks cards). Once you reach $10 in credits, you can get your "bear bucks" emailed to you, or "snail mailed" to you.

I've seen other reviews of Build a Bear before but yours is the best I've read. I would love to visit a Build-a-Bear store but I don't know if there are any in my area. I love bears and have a whole shelf full of them! I'm going to check out the website and see if there are any around here.
BTW I don't think your review was an advertisement at all! I like details in a review especially when I'm reading about a product or service I don't know much about.

I have been wanting to go to this store for a very long time and I am finally getting to go this Friday. I didn't know that they had so many choices, I will really have to think about what I want to get now. Thanks for a great review and I totally disagree with the comment that it sounded like a advertisment!

Oh my. I couldn't disagree more with this comment.
When reading a review, I want all of my questions answered in the review. If I wanted to have to email people for information on products, I wouldn't be coming to Epinions. This review is complete, informative and fabulous. Kepp up the good work.

Sorry to hear how you perceived this review. My intention with this review was give details ... not for it to be appear as an advertisement. I have found when reading others reviews that I sometimes wish I had more information ... whether it be cost of items reviewed, phone number for contact, etc...

I have seen one of these that a student of mine brought in for sharing but didn't understand the concept until I read your article. I wished I had listened more closely while he was sharing because this is really a terrific idea! I love it.

...reminded me more of an advertisment for Build-a-bear than a review of it. Maybe take off those price list things that look like a menu (i.e. Shirt $5, Jumper $7...) and the TOLLFREE NUMBER you can call. Perhaps say, "email me for more information."
