Bumbo is an excellent short term investment! (Reply to this comment)
by ngfhorn
We also had a great time with our son in his aqua Bumbo seat! We purchased it around 2 months old and he had a grand time sitting with us while we ate meals (with his head up and back straight!) or visited with family or friends. The Bumbo is super simple and a quick cleanup if needed! Our son did not have the experience of falling out or squirming out of the seat, thank goodness! His thighs outgrew the seat by 5 months so it was time for us to move up to something else. I think it might depend on the child whether or not they want to sit still or if they let their curiosity of the new world around them take over. I say thumbs up to the Bumbo Seat! (Bumbo has to have some derivation from Africa as this is where the product is made).

As a new father of a two-week-old girl, I've already learned how much money can be spent on items that are not ideal for us. Your review was excellent! Keep on reviewing!

I have a daughter just born with Spina Bifida and this has been recommended by other moms to help with stabilization. I plan on buying one but I have a bit different cicumstances.

My son... (Reply to this comment)

has the purple one. He really likes it. He's been holding his head up well since 1.5 months and has been standing (that's his favorite thing in the world) since about the same time. He really, really still likes it. My cousin's little guy also likes it. He was born in February and is still using it!
I like my son's Bumbo (as does he).

I've been curious about this chair for some time and though I've read other reviews I still wasn't quite sure what the appeal was. Thanks for clearing it all up! Great review.

Mine too - HRH was not a real fan of any baby "traps" unless she was sleeping. Otherwise, she wanted to be rolling, kicking, and flailing about freely. This is an excellent review of this seat. Although I've been aware of it for quite a long time, most of my questions about it were not answered until now.

I could just see Aidan in this thing... He's been a mover and a shaker since I was 5 months pregnant with him.
Not such a good idea :) ... Thanks for the review,
