We buy green coffee beans and roast them at home, so we are big coffee drinkers. I hate this coffee maker. The hot water is stored inside it, and it is never hot enough when it brews as it gets diluted from the cold water that is added, and they rely on the heating element to bring it up to temperature. Therefore, I must heat up the water in the microwave first. If you do not use Bunn coffee filters which are deeper, the grinds overflow into the coffee. Even with their filters, this happens a lot. I think it's because the water comes out so fast in their effort to give you coffee in 3 minutes. It is supposed to make 10 cups, but the pitcher they give you to fill with water is only 48 oz, which is 8 cups. Try putting more in and the coffee grinds are in your coffee seriously. There is no automatic cut off for the pot, and I've had burned coffee as a result. You have to remember to cut off the hot water function when you go on vacation, or it will run dry. When you come back from vacation, it takes hours for it to get hot. I end up heating water in the microwave, and pouring several pots in to get the water temperature back up. It also takes up a lot of space on the counter. I have a Cuisinart that I love. I'll wait an extra 2 minutes for my coffee, thank you.
