Pros:Christina does a great job in this movie; singing, dancing, acting: great!
Cons:None!
The Bottom Line: I loved it.  Burlesque is a great movie.

I wanted to see the movie Burlesque for quite a while. I love musicals, Christina Aguilera and appreciate the music of Cher and thought it might be a good choice. I even remember seeing Christina perform one of the dance numbers for this movie on Dancing with the Stars.  But of course life keeps moving and things don’t always go your way so it took me longer than expected to finally see it. And good thing I did because the movie was awesome. Burlesque is a moving full of rich music, fun, excitement, and dancing.

Julia Child once said "find something you're passionate about and keep tremendously interested in it." Burlesque is a movie that describes this totally. Christina Aguilera plays the role of Ali, a girl trying to find her place in life. She was born to sing and dance and decides to leave her life in Iowa to pursue her dreams in Los Angeles.  She discovers the Burlesque Lounge and realizes that this place run by Tess (Cher) is her chance at life. She knows she has the talent in her and lets nothing stand in the way of letting the world see what she is truly made of.

With all her wit and personality, Ali takes her crack on making her dreams come true and her electric dance movements earned her a spot in the live show. When one of the lead dancers shows up drunk, just minutes before the show, Tess decides to put Ali at the lead spot and from that point on, she became an instant hit. With the use of her angelic voice, her black corset and those dance movements, she owned the stage and demanded smiles for the audience.

While Ali is finally living her dreams, the club is going through financial turmoil. Tess is running the club smoothly but the financial troubles they are facing could change everything. Tess and her ex-husband Vincent own the club and are being tempted to sell it to Marcus who continuously tries to offer them paradise and a pretty nice set of numbers to take the club off their hands. Tess is determined to keep the club and will stand at nothing to make sure that her dancers do the Wagon wheel WA Tutsi every night as planned.

Burlesque
is a really good movie.  It has a good balance of emotions featured in it. The movie is about love, passion and the arts.  It is about getting up and doing something to see the world that you desire to see.

I loved the movie. I love musicals. One of my favorite movies is Sound of Music so the energy and music in Burlesque sit really well with me. It has some wonderful music featured in it.  Both Christina Aguilera and Cher sing some beautiful numbers, exercising their voices to the fullest extent.  I liked the storyline and action. There is a lot of energy in this movie and no dull moments.  The scenes looked pretty complete and I liked the colors and lights featured on that big stage that Christina and all her fellow dancers would dance on. I enjoyed this picture and recommend it to all music and movie lovers.
