Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros:Smells good, natural ingredients, exfoliates well, gentle
Cons:Messy, glass jar
The Bottom Line: This is a great, exfoliating scrub that's good to my skin.
I've been meaning to review this product for a while, but kept putting it off. Then, a Borders bookstore recently opened in my area and along with books, a coffee shop, and various gifts was an endcap display of Burt's Bees items. Being a bit of a natural health and beauty stuff junkie, I picked up a few of them, including another jar of Burt's Bees Citrus Facial Scrub.

Claims from Burt's Bees:
We blend natural ingredients such as oats, orange peel, ground almonds and ground spices with rose petals to create this luscious facial scrub thats gentle enough for daily use. Sweet almond oil moisturizes the skin while you exfoliate with ground almonds and spices. The orange oil helps remove traces of dirt or makeup left behind after cleansing. Burts Bees Citrus Facial Scrub is recommended for all skin types.
Where to Purchase:
Burt's Bees products can be purchased in various brick-and-mortar stores, such as grocery stores, health/natural food stores, assorted bookstores and the like. They can also be purchased online.
Burt's Bees Citrus Facial Scrub comes in a clear 2 oz glass jar with an screw-on lid printed with the Burt's Bees logo. The scrub itself is a very thick, dark brown, gritty paste. The closest thing I can think of to match the texture is peanut butter cookie dough, only with bits of ground up shell inside.
The scrub smells like oranges and herbal tea. The scent doesn't linger much past rinsing.
This product has the potential to be messy, so I suggest using it in the shower. Pinch or scoop a marble-sized blob of scrub out of the jar, place it in the palm of your hand, and add enough water to make a thin paste. Massage into wet skin and rinse with warm water.
I love this stuff! I've got fairly sensitive skin combination skin, and I can use this scrub a couple of times a week with no problems. Even though the exfoliating bits are a lot bigger than in most scrubs, it seems a lot gentler on my skin. The scrub has essential oils, so if your skin is oily already you may need to use an additional cleanser or a toner afterwards, but I find that it leaves skin clean, but not stripped. My only problem with this product is the packaging. The little glass jar looks nice, and it's reusable when it's empty, but little glass jar + shower = one nervous little klutz (that's me). I haven't broken one of these yet, but I feel like I'm taking my chances. Overall, though, I recommend this product.
