Burt’s Bees Hand Salve is the best solution for dry skin I have yet to come across. My hands become extremely dry, especially in the winter, and calloused from gardening, exercising and housework. My Hon works with his hands building custom furniture and being handy around the house. So his hands are not only dry and calloused, but they also often ache due to the over-development and over-use of the muscles in his hands.
Oh, Woe are Us!
Well really, it’s not that bad. We both love what we do, so our hands show the labors of our loves. But when we are in need of some serious hand relief, we reach for our trusty short cylindrical tin of Burt’s Bees Hand Salve.
Burt’s Bees Hand Salve looks like yellowish clear shoe polish. It’s goopy and creamy and seems more like leather conditioner than hand cream. But I call ‘em like I see ‘em, and THIS STUFF WORKS MIRACLES!
Simply scoop a small goop out of the tin and massage gently but firmly into your hands. A slight menthol aroma will become increasingly apparent and you will feel your hands drifting away into a soothing gel-cushioned dream. A tingly sensation may occur, and this will add to the effect of analgesic pain relief. It doesn’t tingle as strongly as Ben-Gay or some other analgesics, but the effect is essentially the same.
What’s in it?
The ingredients in Burt’s Bees Hand Salve are all-natural and never tested on animals.
You will notice that the first ingredients are oily. Therefore, you will not want to use this product on your face or anywhere else on your body that tends toward oiliness or breakouts.
Is it good for anything else?
As a matter of fact, it is. I use it on my feet in particular. It really moistens the dry areas on my heels and leaves my feet feeling relaxed and loose. I don’t recommend putting it on your feet before putting your socks or shoes. This feels squishy when you walk and leaves an unpleasant residue on your socks, and will seep through to your shoes, drenching them in an oily mix of salve and sweat- yuck!
Also, you can use Burt’s Bees Hand Salve on your knees, elbows, or wherever you experience extreme dryness. If you suffer from excema or another skin disorder, you will probably want to check with a doctor or dermatologist before putting it on those areas.
As A Final Note
Everyone in my house adores Burt’s Bees Hand Salve. It comes in a cute, yellow, handy dandy tin that easily snaps open and shut. It costs $6.50 at natural food stores and can also be purchased at www.burtsbees.com.
Thanks so much for reading and have a wonderful day!
