sinkingblue's Full Review: Burt's Bees Burts Bees Marshmallow Vanishing Creme...
This product, like most, is hit and miss. I personally love it. I have extremely sensitive skin with a few VERY dry patches that pop up every now and again. I originally bought this product because I had extremely dry skin right under my eyes. The skin was literally so dry it was flaking and peeling off. I applied a small amount a couple times in one day and the next day, the dry skin was gone. Now, any time a patch of dry skin pops up, I apply it a couple of times and the next day, it's gone.
So, here's a list of why you may and may not like it:
1. It smells GOOD. If you like bananas. My husband called me his monkey for a week after I got this stuff. I bought some for a friend of mine and she said she couldn't stop smelling it on the way home. I personally love it, and once it's on, you can't really smell it.
2. The texture is... different. When you touch it, it's VERY thick, but it vanishes into your skin almost instantly. You can't feel it once you've applied it unless you touch the skin, which some people (particularly those who have a habit of touching their faces), won't like. I hope that makes sense.
2a. This is connected to the texture aspect of the cream. Because of the fact that you can feel it on your skin if you touch it with your fingers, this may not be good as an all-over moisturizer. This may be better used as a spot moisturizer, which is what I use it for.
3. Despite how thick this stuff is, I have yet to break out as the result of it. But, I'm not really prone to breakouts.
4. I have never found the product to be shiny or greasy. If you rub it in, it vanishes... just like the name says. It's all about moderation, people. If you use too much, it WILL be shiny, it WILL be greasy, and it will probably feel disgusting. Small amount goes a looong way. I've had a lot of experience with various brands of moisturizer and most of them are watery and so you have to use a lot... this is NOT one of those products.
5. Lasts forEVER. Because you only have to use small amounts of it, this huge tub has lasted me months and I'm not even halfway through it.
So, I hope this helps you out. Overall, I recommend the product. Like almost all of Burt's Bees products, the key is moderation. :)
