Pros: Peppermint scent refreshes and energizes. Great exfoliation!
Cons: Exfoliation can be harsh. Sticky when left on side of tub.
The Bottom Line: Burt's Bees Peppermint Soap will give you a refreshingly invigorating bath with a good old fashioned scrubbing, too!

Any product that professes to awaken me and energize my senses in the mornings gets my attention. When I read about Burt’s Bees Farmer’s Friend Peppermint Bar Soap, I knew I just had to try it!
My most recent experience with an energizing product Morning Burst left me feeling as if I could easily go back to sleep. Therefore, I will admit I was hesitant to spend $5.00 for a single bar of soap. But, I lucked up on a promotion where I also received lots of free product and free shipping, so I thought, "What the heck?".
Burt’s Bees Farmer’s Friend Peppermint Bar Soap comes in a yellow box with bees on it and a picture of a bearded man. The bar of soap itself is 3 ½ oz. bath size and is a dark brown color. The color will definitely take you by surprise if you aren’t expecting it. What will also take you by surprise is that this bar of soap is an exfoliating soap – be prepared before you use it or you’ll feel like you are bathing with sandpaper. The peppermint scent is strong and very evident!
Ingredients:
Vegetable Soap, Vegetable Glycerin, Almond Meal, Rosemary Oil, Peppermint Oil, Rosemary Leaves, Peppermint Leaves, Comfrey Leaves, Calendula Flowers

My Shower Experience
When the package arrived, the deliveryman asked me to open it and check it because he was afraid something was broken because you could smell the peppermint scent. After I opened the box, which also contained my other Burt’s Bees products, I assured him everything was just as it should be – and smelled GREAT! I couldn’t wait to take a shower!
As I said, I was prepared for the exfoliating factor, so I knew the soap would perform that feat. What I did not know is that it will really exfoliate - and then some! Little particles of almond meal some off as you are lathering and scrubbing, and you will immediately discover a cleansing and tingling sensation. It reminded me of the good old fashioned scrubbings my grandmothers used to give us as children.
Burt’s Bees Farmer’s Friend Peppermint Bar Soap has a nice lather to it. It actually lathers better than I expected. The peppermint scent is strong, but refreshing and eye opening! The scent does not seem to linger after you shower though.
But I don’t want to exfoliate
Another day at the ballpark means another day in the sun. I took care of applying sunscreen on my kids, but somehow managed to neglect myself, so my shoulders and back got sunburned. When we got home, I wanted to refresh and cleanse, but no way no how did I want to exfoliate my sunburned skin. I loved the refreshing scent and tingling feel of the peppermint soap so much though, that I decided to try using it without applying it directly to my skin. I took the bar of soap and lathered up a regular wash cloth - no sponge, no loofah - just a wash cloth. Not only did it lather nicely and still refreshingly cleanse my skin, but I had none of the scratchy exfoliating effects. My sunburned skin actually felt soft and moisturized!!!
Overall:
If you want a bar of soap that will exfoliate as you cleanse and awaken you at the same time – Burt’s Bees Farmer’s Friend Peppermint Bar Soap may be just the soap for you. The peppermint scent is strong, so if you don’t like the scent, you probably wouldn’t like the soap.
Leaves a dark, slimy residue if left on the side of tub or shower shelf. It will also dissolve faster than normal bar soap. I’m guessing due to the particles that come off as it exfoliates. I put my soap in a “soap box” and place it in the bathroom drawer between showers.
