The Product This lip balm comes in a .15 oz dial up tube, the standard size usually seen for this type of product. It costs between $4 and $5 per balm, so it is more costly than average for lip balms, but in my opinion you are paying for a superior product in this case. Performance This product glides on easily, much more so than "waxier" types like Chapstick or Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm. It is very soothing, and lacks the burn or tingle that balms containing mint or eucalyptus cause. It has a very long lasting moisturizing effect, and is very healing if your lips get chapped or cracked.
A single stick will last approximately a month for me, at a rate of two applications a day. It does not contain mineral oil or petroleum jelly, so it does not set up the effect of needing to apply it more and more often that some balms cause.
The balm has a strong pomegrate scent which is much more pleasant to me than the usual petroleum, eucalyptus, or mediciny smell of lip balms. The ingredients are all safe and natural, which I prefer in a product that will be on my mouth.
The Ethics Burt's Bees Replenishing Lip Balm is vegetarian, but not vegan, as it contains beeswax, an animal product. The product are not tested on animals, and the container is made with 50% post-industrial recycled plastic, and is recyclable.
The Good This product works well, and has a superior formulation that does not include petroleum products or harsh ingredients like mint or eucalyptus. It has a pleasant smell and feel, applies easily, and is soothing a healing.
The Bad It is significantly more expensive than average. Some people may not like the strong fruit scent.
The Conclusion I would highly recommend this product, despite the price, as my experience is that you are paying for a superior product. I prefer this balm to all other brands, and even to the regular Burt's Bees Beeswax Balm, which is less silky and can burn a little.
