Pros: Cheap Price; Good Thirst Quencher
Cons: Devoid of any Flavor
The Bottom Line: Frankly, I don't see the point of this beer. Regular Busch is already too light. Do we really need an even lighter version?

| Bryan_Carey's Full Review: Busch |
Busch Light is a poorly made beer from the folks at Anheuser- Busch. I'm not sure why they even chose to make this beer, given the light characteristics of regular Busch. I guess they wanted to test the limits and see just how weak a beer could be.
Upon examining a glass of Busch Light, you will see that is a very light colored beer, with almost no aroma to speak of, except an ever- so- slight smell of hops. The head of foam is slight and it disappears quickly. The flavor is almost non- existent, coming about as close to a glass of water as humanly possible. The taste is balanced. There is no sweet or bitter taste, because there really is no distinct taste at all. These qualities are even more pronounced the colder the beer is served. And this is the type of beer that usually is served ice cold. If Busch Light is allowed to warm up a bit, it starts to taste a little better, but not for long. If it is allowed to get too warm, the taste turns bad quickly.
Busch Light is, not surprisingly, one of the top 10 selling beers in the United States. The reason I'm not surprised by this statistic is because this beer is brewed and targeted toward the college market and toward others who do not really like the taste of beer, but do like the effects. It is also targeted toward the calorie- conscious consumer. But, as I have always emphasized to my light beer drinking friends, the few calories that you save are not worth the flavor that you give up. Busch Light has 110 calories per 12 oz serving. A typical, regular strength beer has around 150 calories. Is the taste of regular beer worth the additional 40 calories? Yes, it most definitely is worth it, in my opinion. I would rather drink three bottles of regular strength beer than four bottle of light beer. The total calories in eash instance would be about the same but the taste experience with regular beer is much better, even if it does mean drinking less.
Busch Light is a weak, watery concoction, easily drinkable because of its similarities to water. It goes with almost any food, just like a glass of water. This is the type of beer that tastes great when you are a poor, struggling college student, yearning for as many beers as possible for a small amount of money. But for the rest of us, unless the drinking fountain is out of order, it should be avoided.
