I know what you're thinking: there is no way that a beer that is cheaper than water can be drinkable. That's what I thought at first, too. But those were the good old days, when I didn't realize that being a college student is synonymous with being broke. Now I understand how it works. Drink a cheap beer a few times, and it tastes great. Well, maybe not great, but when it comes down to it, it doesn't matter.
Don't get me wrong here. I would never go out to have a casual drink with dinner and order a Busch light. It just wouldn't happen. But when I'm buying beer on Friday night and I have a grand total of $12.56 to my name, that sign that reads "Busch Light $11.99" is like a Godsend. So when I'm faced with the choice between buying a 12 pack of my favorite beer and getting a 30-pack of Busch light, there is no contest. You know what they say, "The more, the merrier".
As for what the beer tastes like. Well, let's just say, it goes down easy. It is pretty watered down, and if you get it cold enough, you might actually think you're drinking water. But that's not always a bad thing, because you won't feel like you've had a meal halfway through the night. But I promise your wallet will be smiling.
College students everywhere, suck up your pride and listen to the empty wallet in your pocket. Drinking cheap beer happens to the best of us, and it's one less call to mom for money.
