My almost 5 year old daughter has started playing ice hockey. She's the only girl on the team and she is not thrilled about the team colors of green/white. When she received her team jersey she basically threw a fit as four year olds are known to do. Why? Because it was green. She asked if she could wear a different color and the coach didn't care (it is a non-competitive league for kids with disabilities). She wanted pink or purple. It was fine with the coach, so I went out looking for gear that met with her approval.  That is how I found the CCM 10100 Solid Color Hockey Practice Jersey.

This a very affordable practice jersey priced at $17.99 but readily sold for around under $12!  I got this jersey in LA Purple as well as matching purple CCM hockey socks.  It comes in a ton of colors including white, black, red, royal and navy blue, green, gray, burgundy, yellow, orange, teal and lets not forget pink as well as purple. They also sell a 2-tone version of this jersey and custom team colors.

The CCM practice jersey comes in the following sizes Junior Small/Medium, Junior Large/XL, Small, Medium, Large, XL, XXL, and Goal Cut.    My daughter being on the small side (usually a size 4T) takes the smallest size available - that would be Junior Small/Medium. A loose fitting jersey is required in order to go over all the protective gear (the shoulder pads and elbow pads) and they are generally worn big.  Still my daughter is pretty much swimming in the size Jr. Small but that is as small as it gets! It actually fits well through the shoulders and chest but it is the arm length and the length of the jersey itself that are too long. I have to fold the sleeves up and it comes down well past her thigh. 
This jersey can be machine washed (air dry is best). It holds up pretty well though it is quite thin. We have gotten a snag or two where velcro from some of her gear pulled the fabric. It is well worth the low price and my daughter looks great out there on the ice. I'm pleased I was able to find her a purple jersey relatively painlessly and without breaking the bank.
