These skates sound like ones to stay away from. My only new pair of skates in the past decade is my current pair of '01 Super Tacks 652. The fit was much better than my old junkers, due mostly to the "hot fit" that was used at the skate shop. It helps to pre-form the skate to your foot, but there is still a lengthy break-in period.

I don't play hockey other than on the local outdoor ice rinks, but I love my 652s just for skating around.

It's too bad CCM screwed up with the '02 models, but at least we have you to warn us about it.
