Pros:-looks pretty and shiny, makes lips feel very soft, nice smell.
Cons:-very pricey, hurts a little, can be irritating, not much plumping.
The Bottom Line: The bottom line is pouting and wants to be plumper.
Yes, that's right I spent 40.00CAD for a lip-gloss.

About 4 weeks ago, after a bout with the flu, I felt like pampering myself and went for a mani/pedi. They couldn't take a walk in though, so I went to browse at the Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty Boutique instead. There I saw CITY Lips Collagen Peptide LIP PLUMPING Treatment . The claims, the fact that it was new, and the high (remember, I was in a pampering mood) price convinced me I HAD to have it.
More about CITY Lips Collagen Peptide LIP PLUMPING Treatments
This is a lip gloss/treatment. It is meant to lightly color and shine your lips, while smoothing and plumping them. It is 40$CAD and 29$USD, available at Sephora (Brick and Mortar and online), drugstore.com and Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty Boutique. I have also read that it is a hot seller on Ebay. It is a wand type gloss, with a brush applicator. It comes in clear, and 11 sheer shades; in the pink, peach and beige shades. There is 1oz in a tube. The tube is small and cute, with a black lid, and clear tube that has the name of the product and a kiss. See above.
About this product, citycosmetics.com says: Other Lip Plumping Products dont work. They burn & irritate lips to plump for ONLY a few minutes. Check the ingredients - avoid cheap lip products that use Capsicum, Niacin, Menthol or Peppermint. These ingredients cannot build collagen so - you get what you pay for!

The pamphlet that comes with the gloss recommends using the clear at night and coloured during the day. However, since they are both the same formula, I decided to save my money and start with one in a light enough color that I can wear it night or day.
My city lips experience.
The look: I got this in Sin City, a sheer peach with golden sparkle. It looks really pretty. The color is very sheer, and I can wear it to sleep without feeling like I am on a soap opera. However, for daytime it gives my lips a pretty lift. It is very shiny. The look lasts about 2 hours. There is no immediate plumping effect, though it does give my lips a nice pouty look due to the high shine.
The feel: At first application, there is a slightly painful tingle. This changes to numbness in about 2 minutes, and there are no feelings at all (tingle or numbness) from about 5 minutes of application on. The tingle and numbness seems to decrease with each application and after a week or so of wear, I no longer felt (or maybe noticed) it.
The gloss itself feels very smooth and nourishing, there is no grit and it is not sticky or globby at all.
The smell: Slightly cinnamony. A nice smell in my opinion, not too strong.
The taste: Not much taste, but it does make your tongue numb for a moment.
The results: I have been using this 2-3 times a day for 6 weeks now. My lips have never been so soft and smooth. It feels great on, but even when it wears off, my lips feel very healthy and nourished. I am no longer constantly reaching for lip-balm, and lip-color glides on more evenly and pretty than ever before.
The plumping: My lips may look a little plumper, but it is not very significant and this product does not provide the plumping I expected for the price. I started noticing a little plumping after about 2 weeks of use, and it has not increased since then.
All in all
I like the look, feel and smell of this product, as well as the softening effect it has on my lips. It is pricey, but for me it is almost worth it so have such soft lips. There are no longer any flakes on my lips, and I love that. My tube lasted 4 weeks and I still have a bit left. I am not sure I will re-purchase immediately, I will first try to keep the feel up with a good (but affordable) lip moisturizer. However, if my lips become all flaky and dry again, I will re-purchase City Lips to get them back in kissable shape.
This has not irritated my lips at all, but my more sensitively skinned friend tried it, and got a red circle around her mouth that lasted 2 days (did I say friend? I meant ex-friend!) hense, I would not recommend City Lips for those who have sensitive skin.
Thanx Shantel for the product addition!
