Pros: Inexpensive, and found easily. Does seem to do a good job.
Cons: Whitening? Might be too rough for those with sensitive gums/teeth. Battery sometimes erratic.
The Bottom Line: If you have a need for a battery operated toothbrush that is effective for cleaning your teeth this toothbrush is reasonably priced and effective.

| Suzer's Full Review: CREST Spinbrush Pro Whitening |
Of course the Crest Spinbrush Pro Whitening Toothbrush can't replace a Sonicare. Are you crazy? Oh, you thought I was. Well, my Sonicare died after a couple of years, and alas I didn't have $100 to spend on another similar electric toothbrush. Sad but true. I also was not up for buying a used Sonicare on ebay. I know, I am close-minded. Anyway, I decided to merely amble over to my local Savon Drugstore. Oh, yeah, this week called CVS. Forgive my cynicism. But it was Savon, then it was Osco's, then back to Savon, now CVS. Whatever. . .
I looked at all the inexpensive available battery operated toothbrushes and liked that this one allegedly had whitening capabilities. While I have my teeth cleaned professionally by the hygienist at my dentist's office quarterly, I should do more about whitening my teeth. I don't smoke; I don't even chew tobacco (I know, a shocker), but I do do coffee. Yes, I am a coffee addict. So, as I respect the Crest name, the price was right at under $9.00, and even less online I am sure, I decided to try this toothbrush.
Features:
~*~ The bristles are said to polish away the stains on the surface of your toothies.
~*~ They further claim that you will see a difference in the color of your teeth in 14 days, and on top of that, they guarantee it.
~*~ Comes in 5 different attractive colors. Mine is as shown on the picture above.
~*~ You can purchase in medium or soft bristles. I stupidly got the medium (didn't notice it said medium)
~*~ The double A batteries (dos) are included-quite a deal in my book
~*~ Has a thin head to get to those hard-to-reach places. The ones in your mouth of course.
~*~ This is easy to find at brick and mortar stores, or at lower cost online.
Warnings:
Be aware that this toothbrush is not recommended for kidlets under 3 unless you are there to supervise.
Don't put under water as it can be ruined.
Dentists recommend that you replace the head every 3 to 4 months (or Suzi recommends throwing it out and replacing the whole toothbrush then)
Not to be used by those with special needs.
Don't use if there are loose parts as it can cause choking problems.
Of course read directions thoroughly.
My experience:
As noted above I didn't notice this was the Crest Spinbrush with medium soft bristles. I should have purchased the soft bristles instead as my gums and teeth are sensitive. Having said that, I initially found this toothbrush to be too rough for my mouth. After a month or so of regular use it is no longer bothering me. I find that my mouth feels fresh and clean, perhaps as much as my Sonicare at a lot less cost. When my neighbor suggested I buy a Spinbrush rather than trying to find a deal on Sonicare brushes online, I thought she was crazy. I really don't feel like hassling with replacing batteries or heads, so when this is thrashed, I shall merely toss (in the trash, not the air) and purchase a new one for a measely $8.00. As far as the whitening capabilities, I am honestly not sure. I had my teeth cleaned when I went to the dentist last time, and I purchased this toothbrush around the same time. What I should do is stop drinking coffee, but that will not happen in this lifetime. It is a vice I enjoy as well as dark chocolate, and I am not going to quit! So there!
The one con:
I find the battery doesn't always work. It is erratic. So, at those times I get a little frustrated, and end up using it manually, which rather defeats the purpose of a battery operated toothbrush!
Anyway, I do recommend this toothbrush, but the next one I purchase will be with soft bristles.
I recommend it for anyone wanting their mouth to feel fresh and clean, wanting to spend less than required with electric toothbrushes; use your discretion on the whitening capabilities. I am giving it 3 stars but wish the batteries worked consistently.
Thanks for reading!
