| dawnygirl725's Full Review: Caesars Cove Haven |
My boyfriend of 3 years and I recently took a weekend get-a-way to Cove Haven Resort. (located in Lakeville, PA) We stayed for 2 days and 1 night - May 30th and 31st. We had a couple of days off work together and wanted to enjoy them and get away for the Memorial Day weekend. Unfortunately, we didnt decide this until last minute and were cutting it close to get reservations anywhere. We contemplated a few weekend destinations but nothing seemed quite right. One night as a last resort for ideas, I did an internet search for "weekend get-a-ways", Pocono vacations came up. I found the Caesers Resorts home page and boy am I glad I did! I called the 800 number and spoke to a very helpful and friendly rep who offered us a room called the "Garden of Eden Apple" in Cove Haven. (1 of the 4 Caesers Resorts" It sounded perfect! We were on our way!
When we arrived, the people at Guest services were extremely helpful and friendly. They informed us that our room was not ready for check in due to the busy holiday weekend. They invited us to attend breakfast at the dining hall and gave us a map of the area and even suggested some fun activities for us to do in the meantime. The one thing that caught me off guard was when we arrived at breakfast. We were seated with other couples which I wasnt prepared for. However, everyone was very nice. I guess it just depends on what type of person you are. I tend to be a little shy around new people so this was a bit of a wierd situation for me. When our room was finally ready we headed for the Apple rooms. (pleasantly surprised that our room was ready 3 hrs before they had estimated)I turned the key with anxiety - - Oh My! The room was more beautiful than we ever could have imagined Our suite had a heart shaped jacuzzi for 2 in the middle of a beautifully decorated living room complete with a small table and chairs and couch. We headed for the sunken beadroom area that had a round king sized bed and fire place in it, along with a great sound system that played throughout the suite. Through glass doors in the bedroom we saw our own personal swimming pool and sauna room. What a dream! During out stay we took advantage of the tour being offered to see the other types of rooms offered at Cove Haven...all very beautiful. We still like ours best :) but after seeing the price difference we agreed that when we go back we may try another type of suite to save a bit of dough.
The resort is basically all inclusive. You get both breakfast and dinner, all activities, and night entertainment with the price of your room. Basically all you will have to shell out extra bucks for is beverages, lunch, and if you opt for something extra special such as a couples massage. Unfortunately, we didnt get to enjoy that due to the holiday weekend, they were all booked up. I would suugest making an appointment before you actually arrive at the resort because after speaking with the staff I learned that they book well in advance for this. I did feel that the alcoholic beverages at the nightclub and bar were extremely high priced. Mixed and frozen drinks were between $8 and $12 and beers were $7.50 or so. We did bring a few of our own drinks which helped keep the price down. All rooms come equipped with a fridge which is helpful.
The staff at Cove Haven is wonderful. I am one that is very hard to impress service-wise and I was very happy with everything there. Whether you had a question, a problem or just needed some extra towels from over flowing the jacuzzi with too much bubble bath....everyone was right there to help with a smile on their face. (note:do not put a lot of bubble bath in the tub...turning on the jets doubles the amount of bubbles made!! we talked to several couples who made the same mistake!! haha) :)
When you enter the grounds there is a sign saying welcome to "the land of love" Boy its it ever! It is just the most romantic place in the world that even brings the romance out in the "romantically challenged" My honey and I spent the best weekend we have had in a long time together there, both fun and romantic.
A few pointers for you. Bring your own bubble bath and alcoholic beverages to save money considering the price of the room can be quite high. Also, the fire places in most rooms do not come with duraflame logs. Be prepared to buy them from the gift shop there. If you are like me and are shy and might want to sit alone at meals - just ask the staff in the dining hall and they are happy to arrange it for you. Also, take advantage of the breakfast in bed option for no additional cost!
All in all, we had a very positive experience here and will definately be going back. They even have a rewards program there called "forever lovers"-go 3 times and you become a forever lover, discounts and late check out among the perks! :)
