I don't recommend staying at Caesars Palace if you want to tour Las Vegas. It is all that you need in one place. Restaurants, Shopping, Gambling and if needed, sleeping.
My husband and I received a trip to Las Vegas. We have never gambled in our lives. We were excited to have the opportunity to experience what so many call "the sleepless city", and boy, is that ever the truth. We arrived at Caesars Palace, unpacked and immediately went wondering around the hotel. When we checked in, they provided us with a map of the hotel. A map? Is it that big? YES! Even with a map we got lost numerous times. We were amazed at what this place had to offer. We headed out to the mall, which is inside the hotel to find a beautiful place. The ceiling is domed and painted like the sky. They have a beautiful fountain with sculptures. They also have a show called the moving statues, which was real neat to see. The shops were very tasteful and of course they had many souvenirs to purchase.
The casino was spectacular! The constant roar of bells and money was over whelming. It made us want to slam all our money in! We knew we had to pace ourselves from what friends had told us about the casino life. We are not much of card players, so we stuck with the slot machines. You can play anywhere from nickel slots to dollar slots. My husband chose the dollar slots and won over 2000.00, not bad for first time luck. Caesar's Palace casinos offer great service while you are on the floors putting money into their machines. The waitresses were always by your side asking if you need a free drink.
The restaurants were a little bit more pricey than if you had left Caesar's premises, but you paying for the convenience of not having to leave the hotel. The food and service was very good.
All in all, I highly suggest staying at the Caesar's Palace, especially if you're not into walking 10 miles a day or just have a short weekend to spend out in Las Vegas. It has everything!
