To me, Caesar's Palace epitomizes the true Vegas experience. It's opulent and grand, dynamic and exciting. While not as visually spectacular as the newer megaresort casinos, it has always managed to hold its own and keep its feel. Some of the newer places have the fake feeling of glitter painted on a cheap motel. Caesar's has always had the feeling of true elegance, solidity and timelessness.
The casino is huge and mazelike. Some of the best games are hidden in the very back of the large complex, so be sure to explore! I've also won more on Caesar's dollar slots over the years than any other casino. Hitting the thousand dollar jackpot on the older magnificent 7's (slowly being removed from most casinos, sadly) almost became routine, though I spent most of it back in the same machine of course.
The table games draw an interesting mix of young and old, high and low rollers, experienced and inexperienced. For all the rubbing elbows with the big spenders, there's surprisingly little snobbery. The table games are some of the best I've played in Vegas.
While I've never stayed in their rooms, I've spent many hours of many visits in their casinos, bars and restaurants. They have one of the best buffets I've ever tried and I don't really like buffets. The restaurants used to be some of the best on the strip but have been outclassed by some of the newer casino's offerings. Still, I think you'll be impressed with the quality. Caesar's puts strong emphasis on quality.
The shopping is some of the best in any casino, with high end designer shops that rival some of the finest in the world. If you love shopping, then check out the Fashion Show Mall first though. Perhaps you'll find a better deal as Caesar's tends to be very pricey.
I've seen several of their Imax shows and the theatre is really nice. Their Atlantis Imax motion ride is well done and lots of fun though I wasn't terribly impressed. I haven't had a chance to check out their dinner theater/magic show yet, but it's top of the list for my next visit. Knowing Caesar's, I trust it'll be spectacular!
The one thing that's predictable about Caesar's is quality. I've had nothing but positive experiences every time I've been there. The staff, dealers, everyone, have been very professional and courteous. This is Vegas like it used to be!
