Pros: Great location, especially during the summer

If you've spent the day traipsing up and down Newbury street and need to grab a late lunch or a mid-afternoon bite, Cafe Armani is a safe bet. It's conveniently located, and has pleasant patio seating on the street so you can check out the passersby.
Plus, once it finally gets to you, the food isn't half bad. It's simple Italian -- pasta pomodoro, margharita pizza, paninni -- that is fresh and tasty.
You'll probably end up relaxing and enjoying yourself, that is if you can tolerate the "beautiful people" social scene and the snail-paced service. Just about everyone has a cell phone, and in true gauche form, they use them -- talking loudly about when to pick up their Ferraris (one was parked in front of the restaurant last time I ate there) or what time the good parties started that evening.
The waiter I had was definitely hired for his looks, not his talent. He must have taken special classes on how to best avoid eye contact and still look hip and cool.
A side note: The best time to go to the cafe is in the summer, when you can sit outside and people watch. In Boston, unlike in California -- where I'm from, people are allowed to smoke indoors, and it can get quite overwhelming.
In the end, I did enjoy the meal I had at Cafe Armani, and you probably will too, as long as you don't let the poseurs, and the service, get to you.
