They describe this place as the English Ordinary which compares to the French Bistro but it sure seemed French to me.
The food was elaborate and pricey but worth it.
The restaurant is dark wood walls, elegant murals and quiet. I really felt I was someplace special when I took my wife here after a show at Lincoln Center. The decor and the murals made me feel like we were in some early 20th century time frame.
The service was excellent. Everyone from the coat check girl to the bus boys were polite and helpful.
It's a short walk from Lincoln center but nestled on a side street around the corner from Central Park. Close to the action but a world away inside.
