Revisit the 60s!

The Bottom Line: Lots of full-service hotel amenities (better furnished than most, especially in Palm Springs)--a GREAT VALUE. Very attentive staff. Very cool decor everywhere! Motor hotel configuration.

A friend told us about this place (they stayed in a special pet room) so we had to check it out. It's completely new, and the original 60s tiki and Polynesian theme has been restored (tikis everywhere). They even have torches by the pool and whirlpool at night. It's in a great part of town but, unfortunately, on motel row which does not do it justice--it is way above and beyond its neighbors (and a lot of "full-service" hotels we've tried in Palm Springs) in terms of service and quality--the front desk calls you back after you get to your room to make sure everything is OK. The furniture and fabrics are custom (we asked) and everything is very high quality. They give you free beverages every day in your refrigerator. There's a huge pool and lots of mature, tropical landscaping. AND, IT's COMPLETELY NON-SMOKING (outside, too)!!
Upon the suggestion of an advisor, after I wrote the above review, let me clarify further: The resort is spotless (inside and outside); the mattress was one of the best I've ever slept on; the resort has high-quality linens, super quality towels (that I've never seen anywhere before), dataports in the desk lamp base, voicemail, in-room movies, ceiling fans (very rare), plenty of lighting, small couches in every room, high-quality furnishings, bamboo-styled lamps, restored bathrooms, a good quality free breakfast, tiki huts, shuffleboard, an on-site restaurant and bar, on-site Polynesian-inspired spa room for wraps, facials, and massages (my husband had a massage and was impressed), express check-out, and they turned-down our bed and left these really cool tropical backscratchers. AND, aside from the delightfully CLEAN AND FRESH-SMELLING ROOM, we didn't have to put-up with people's smoke or view disgusting cigarette butts poolside (or anywhere else outside) either!!! I think that about covers it.
