I adopted my puppy 2-1/2 years ago and for the first year he suffered from constant loose stool and periods of explosive diarrhea. During that time, I tried 4 or 5 brands of premium dog food (including Iams, Science Diet, & Chicken Soup), trying to find what was right for his sensitive stomach/food allergy. My vet recommended a prescription diet as the final option -- very expensive at over $2/lb. After making many phone calls to pet stores and asking to talk to their most knowledgeable dog food person, an employee at one of the stores recommended trying California Natural Lamb & Rice. It made sense -- there are very few but high-quality ingredients -- and it would certainly eliminate all but 3 or 4 possible allergens. And it worked! My dog loves the food and thrives on it. No more elimination problems from a still unknown food allergy. Check out their website at naturapet.com and you can compare the ingredients online. If your dog has the same problem that mine did, eliminate all digestible products (including bones, rawhides, table food, treats, etc) except for the California Natural Lamb & Rice Food & Health Bars Treats and hopefully you'll have the same success we did!
