dont read the marketing blather, read the ingredients. from what i have learned, the first 5 ingredients will tell the story. #3 and 4 in the dry cat version, Chicken & Brown Rice by California Natural, says RICE. Cats are obligate carnivores, which means meats are needed as the primary ingredients.
We have been feeding this to our two cats for couple months and both cats have recently been diagnosed with medical problems.
My male cat(who is 10), was just diagnosed as pre-diabetic. Since then, we changed his food to a canned food by Wellness and have noticed a dramatic improvement in him. He no longer drinks water like a fish and is playing again with our younger cat.
Our younger cat (who is 3) was just diagnosed with a bladder infection. She was eating the same California Natural as well.
Keep in mind that I am not a veterinarian. both cats may or may not have been pre-dispositioned to their medical conditions. And the nutritional requirements for any animal is as complex as humans. however, in my non-scientific analysis, this food did not improve and possibly caused their conditions.
We owe it to our animals to learn what's best for them. Dont count on a corporate entity to tell you. learn whats good for them and buy accordingly!
