Calvin Klein Men's Brice Slip-On

One thing about dress shoes is that you need to keep them in top condition and need to replace as they start aging. My choice of Calvin Klein Brice Slip On came at such a time.

Im always a fan of slip on shoes as opposed to oxfords when it comes to dress shoes. Slip Ons are so much easier to manage and you dont want to be tying up your laces which have come undone during any meetings.

However when it comes to slip on shoes I want them to standout or in other words look really good.  Thats why I prefer a metal buckle on the front of the shoe. A shiny buckle looks much classier to me than a plain shoe upper or one with a design. 

Fortunately the choices were quite narrow for my choosing. Up for consideration were the Hugo Boss Carl loafer,  Mellion slip on, Metono loafer and a range of CK shoes Brice, Shane, Ezra, Brennan, Sean, Adam, and Iden loafers. 

Although my first preference was Hugo Boss I had to let go of the range due to its price. I wanted something nice for less than $100.

Second choice was between the Calvin Klein Shane and Brice slip ons. Although Shane had everything going for it except that the toe area was sewn in the middle to make a parting. I preferred a smoother toe area. Hence my choice for the Calvin Klein Brice Slip On. Purchased on Amazon for $98 and was happy when I received it. This was in July 2012.  

Shoe design and fit
To say the design of the shoe is simple is not an under statement. The only feature which gives the shoe its "look" is the buckle. Its a brushed metal buckle with Calvin Klein name on it. Its held on by the sides with leather hooks. 

The entire shoe seems to be done in good quality matte finished leather. I would have preferred a bit more of a shine which is lacking. 

The inside has a leather insole (with extra support for the heel) , leather sides and a suede finish in the toe area giving a very comfortable overall fit.  


Durability
The shoe bends adequately and quite flexible to give a smooth walk. And the good thing after 1 year of every day office wear is the leather upper does not have any crease marks where the shoe flexes. Further proof the leather is of great quality. 

The only wear and tear in the shoe is at the tip of the toe area which has got slightly scuffed after many times of accidental knocks on furniture and ground.  

The sole is fully rubberized giving adequate traction. Although the sole is pasted and not sewn to the shoe it doesnt seem like giving away anytime soon.  

All the Calvin Klein name imprints - 3 on the sole, 1 insole are intact which means they have not worn off due to regular wear and the shoe remains solid.  

All this solid goodness from a CK shoe made in China.
