| Gumboh's Full Review: Cambridge SoundWorks CSW MicroWorks |
I own all three of the 3 piece subwoofer/satellite systems from Cambridge SoundWorks and this is by far the best. I have one for my computer and one for my TV. The MicroWorks adds almost another dimension to the already great sounding PC Works and SoundWorks models. I think it’s the best speaker system I have ever heard other than the Dolby Digital EX sound system at the movie theater (it really is that good). When pumped hard it feels like there’s a live band right in front of me. Bass guitar and bass drum parts can be felt as well as it can be heard while higher frequencies are reproduced with perfection. Even when compared to the much more expensive Boss multimedia systems, I still think that the MicroWorks is better. The best part is that it is only $100 (the last time I checked). At this price it is truly a steal! Although it is larger than the PC Works and SoundWorks it is still relatively compact, just not compact enough to be considered portable. A feature I find very useful is the dual inputs (it accepts two 1/8” lines). While it will not perform as well with two inputs coming in at the same time, it is still a highly useful feature. If you are looking for the best multimedia system available there are two things about the MicroWorks that will pleasantly surprise you. One-the incredible sound, two-the incredible price. I probably sound like their sales brochure but these speakers live up to what Cambridge SoundWorks say.
