Pros: Good sound for small/medium rooms, especially considering price.
Cons: Incredible how much packaging is used to ship this product!
The Bottom Line: A good buy. Mixed with a high-speed internet connection and streaming audio, it becomes an altogether new form of home entertainment...

| catinahat's Full Review: Creative Technology DeskTop Theater DTT3500 5 Spea... |
I got this box two days ago that expanded into a mount Fuji of packaging, and wrapped safely inside was a DTT3500 PlayWorks from Creative Labs by Cambridge Soundworks. It took about an hour or so of pretty trouble-free time to set up (taking it easy). Before buying, i read many reviews classing it as nothing more than a system for small rooms, so when i switched it on i didnt really expect all that much, but the more i cranked it, the more it gave!
My home office is roughly 2.5 x 4 metres in dimension and the central bass is in a corner under an L-shaped desk, which i would expect to influence it's sound positively, and the other 5 speakers in their places along the walls.
The midrange and bass are reproduced well, and for the first day or so it all sounds fine, but then you start noticing that there really should have been separate tweeters in those little satellites... Not that it's a big thing, I still play a lot of Hard House very loud and clear, and these are after all a £212 set, but then i read a review on the new MegaWorks 510D set released exactly a week after my own purchase and i wish i had the option...
But overall i'm still happy. It certainly is the best set of speakers i've had attached to any of my PCs and i constantly wish i didnt have neighbours so i can play it the way i want. It turns out to be a pleasant surprise amidst my skepticism!
