| klaxonman's Full Review: Cambridge Soundworks SoundWorks 2 Speakers |
Cambridge Soundworks' Soundworks is perhaps the best speaker system available for its low price of $70-100 depending on where you shop. It has been given rave reviews by PC Magazine, Computer Life, Boot Magazine, C|Net, and other professional reviewer's. In researching Soundworks before I purchased it, not once did I come across a negative review regarding the high quality sound system. Although it was made in 1997, it still dominates its competition in quality at its price range.
Soundworks is very user friendly. Within 15 minutes of opening the box, I had Soundworks setup ready to go. With the easy to follow instruction manual as my assistance, setting up the speaker system was a breeze.
The sound system produces a very high quality sound. The highs are clear and the lows are not muddy at all. For such a small system, the bass is relatively powerful as well. As whole though, the system could be a little more powerful.
The compact size of the system is very nice too. The subwoofer easily fits under any desk, and the two tiny satellite speakers can be placed on the desk. The 9 foot cords can easily reach the satellites from the subwoofer beneath the desk. The speaker's volume control is located on the cord leading to one of the satellites.
If you are interested in purchasing a high quality sound system, yet don't have the money to go all out on one of Cambridge Soundworks' more expensive sound systems, then I strongly recommend Cambridge Soundworks' Soundworks. It is both affordable and very high quality.
