Pros: Quiet, Light, small footprint
Cons: Poorly built product that has multiple issues.
The Bottom Line:
If you are looking for a compressor that will inflate, run light pneumatic tools, and durable enough to last more than a day consider another brand.

| dkaakd's Full Review: Campbell Hausfeld Quiet Air, Portable Air Compress... |
I bought this unit at Wallmart for $60.00. The idea was to have a compressor strong enough to drive a staple gun and inflate tires, rafts, and clean filters and such. The unit is quiet enough, but the motor overheats causing it to shut down and not restart.
After about an hour the motor restarted, recharged the tank (twice) and then shut-down again. I called the manufacturer and they claim this is a known problem with a sensor. I could send it in for repair (3 weeks) or they could send me the part. Since my unit was about 48 hours old, I tool it back to Wallmart and asked for a refund. To my surprise there were two other behind the counter that were returned that day.
The included hose is a hard plastic that is prone to kinks and will not last long in a shop setting. Although I didnāt keep it very long I suspect based on the construction the motor is prone to dust. I did not see a filter, nor did I find a way to clean the intake if it clogs.
This unit is a 100psi 1 gallon compressor. Home Depot sells a similar unit made by Porter
For about $85.00, better yet the Husky 2.5 gallon version for $115.00 is quieter and better suited for all around use.
I know I mentioned this earlier, but I am trying to find something good to say, so here is a small list of features I think are positives:
The motor is quiet
The overall unit is small and light
Did I mention that the unit is quiet?
If you plan on using any type of light pneumatic tool like a grinder, staple gun, brad nailer, or paint sprayer this is not the tool for you. It will fill a tire when it is low, but I doubt it would fill a tire if completely empty.
I also want to mention that most of the other brands come with a nice storage case for your accessories. The C-H unit did not. All in all I am very disappointed and cannot recommend this unit.
