Pfffttt..... Run for your lives !!!
Written: Nov 10 '06 (Updated Nov 10 '06)
Pros:Healthy, nutritious, beautiful coat.
Cons:"it was the dog.. I swear !"
The Bottom Line: One of the best Dog foods on the market, but it comes with small consequences!
......Foot steps....., as I round the corner: "Oh, man... it stinks in here !"
"It was the dog, I swear !"
"Ya, sure it was"
"No, really... it was !"
"Uh huh ! I believe you, too !"
Canidae All Life Stage is one of the healthiest dog foods on the market, and our dog absolutely loves it. It came recommended by her breeder, and she was raised on it. Now, at 2 years old, she still gobbles it down. Every now and then, we "mix it up" a little for her, and add a different kibble to her soft food, just for a little variety. But, Canidae is the mainstay around here. When she turns her stubby little black and white snout up at the "gourmet" stuff, she's sure to devour her Canidae.
The best part is that it's healthy for her. Really... she goes for the healthy stuff!!
Some of the main ingredients include: Chicken Meal, Turkey Meal, Brown Rice, White Rice, and Lamb Meal. There's no Corn, Wheat, Soy, Grain Fractions or Fillers and it's Naturally Preserved.
This product contains natural ingredients plus essential vitamins & amino acids, skin & coat conditioners, omega 3 & 6 fatty acids, and enzymes & viable micro-organisms.
What does this all mean? Basically, it means that it's "health food" for dogs. But, alas.. as with all health foods, there's an underlying side effect. What do I mean, you ask? Let me put it to you this way....
Have you ever gone on a diet? I mean, a real life changing way of altering your eating patterns? Perhaps you've dabbled in a totally natural way of eating. You feel great, don't you. After a couple weeks, you begin to notice this strange sensation in your belly? Kind of a weird "squealing" sound. Later you can feel the pressure just building up. Finally... you find yourself dashing for another room, or a secluded corner, just so you can find some "relief". Yes, your body breaks down healthy, whole foods quite differently then it does that "processed" junk. Soon, as your body's breaking down the foods, you're "breaking" something else..... whewwwwww
Well, my friends, this is true for our canine companions as well, but they don't care who they offend !!
Now, the issue on our part may partially be our breed of dog. Of course, when we fell in love with the breed, no one bothered to tell us about a Boston Terriers known ability to "clear a room". On top of that, adding Canidae into the biological system of a known gastric beast can cause a total fumigation in progress.
Ok, so now you may be wondering...Well, is she recommending it, or isn't she???".
To sum it up, YES I highly recommend this absolutely wonderful dog food. It's the best on the market, leaves our dog's coat shiny and healthy, and she's full of energy. As long as you can get past your fur babies fragrant faux pas, this is the best food in town !!
