The Bottom Line: I recommend this to all who want fast, good quality pics, without the hassle of a huge scanner.

| nlelph's Full Review: Canon CanoScan N1220U Flatbed Scanner |
I bought a Canonscan N1200U scanner to go with my camera, as I thought that it would be cheaper to buy a scanner, than a whole new digicam.
Why Canon?
Well, I have a Canon camera, so why not? The scanner was said to have 1200 by 2400 dpi resolution and to be for Mac only. What? Only Mac? But I have Windows! Well, I checked this out at Canon's website and found thisto be incorrect. It can be used for Windows or Macs. As long as you have at least Windows 95, I believe.
Anyways, the quality of the scanner is totally amazing!! As soon as I was done ripping it out of the box I found a Very slim scanner. Not to mention light, at only 3 lbs. Could this really do what it says? Don't go by its size! This is one extremely powerful scanner. My pictures come out just as if it was the photo itself!
The ease of use?
Plug in the USB cable and start scanning away! It's also quite quick at scanning photos, a regular size takes around 30 seconds.
Colour?
The colour is 4.2 trillion and I haven't had a bit of trouble with the photos coming out in odd colours.
Software?
Although the scanner's ease of use is great, with it came the Adobe Photoshop software included and is complicated. There's no manual to understand the program!
But the scanner has one( or two!)! If you already have photo software that your familiar with, USE IT. It also comes with a stand to store it side ways in some nook or cranny in your book shelf, out of the way. But the way they made the stand, it looks like it may last a month at the most.
Overall, If your not a computer person, you could learn to use this with not very much trouble.
I also think it's better than digital cameras. Why give up a perfectly good camera when you can buy a scanner that's a lot cheaper than another camera? Digital Cameras are not even close to being as clear as this scanner with a regular photo.
For it's price, it's an excellent choice.
