| davea147's Full Review: Canon CanoScan N670U Flatbed Scanner |
I'm getting into burning photo albums on to CD's and my old cheap Mustek was not up to the job. Scans from the Mustek took forever and came out dark.
99 bucks and a trip to Comp USA got me a Cannon CanoScan N670U. It's got 600 By 1200 dpi which is great for CD quality photos, { you may want more dpi if you plan on printing out photos with a high quality printer }and it has only one cable for USB and power.
Features I love about this scanner is it's speed, little over a minute for an 8 by 10. It comes with Adobe Photoshop software which has an auto crop feature, which along with the speed of this scanner makes scanning photos a breeze.
The scanner itself is sleek and has 3 buttons in front, scan, copy, e-mail. For those lacking room it can even be used in a vertical with a holder that comes with it.
All in all for under a 100.00 bucks you can't go wrong with this scanner.
{ update } Just lately I had to make copies of some legal papers and was very pleased with the results. Just put the document in face down and press the copy button in front of scanner. Scans a sheet of paper in less then thirty seconds and with my printer had a copy in under a minute, not bad for just one press of a button.
