Pros: 8.0 MP, excellent battery life, wonderful photo quality

Cons: No included CF card. Manual modes have some problems in low light situations.

The Bottom Line: This is an excellent and very durable camera. I'd would recommend it to anyone.

I just got my Rebel in August after getting frustrated with both the limitations of my point and shoot and my being unhappy with the quality and poses of the professional photographers to whom I'd taken my children for their photos. Since I've gotten my Rebel, I haven't felt the need to take my kids to a photographer. I've been able to take pictures that I definitely consider to be as good or better than the photos that I have had taken of my children in the past.

This is a great camera for a person that is looking to take the step from a point and shoot to a DSLR as it does feature both fully automatic modes and custom modes. If you are looking for a very nice camera without spending a ton of money, this is definitely a wonderful purchase.

Though it was a slight learning curve to adjust from using the LCD screen to using the view finder, I love the fact that the viewfinder is so easy to use. The camera does have the ability to auto focus when holding the shutter button down half way and allows you to adjust your frame after you have locked your focus.

If you are interested in taking pictures of sporting events, there is a special setting just for that which I've found very handy in many ways. It allows for rapid shooting which comes in handy for many subjects other than sports. There are also wonderful settings for landscape, night landscape, and portrait.

One other thing that I love about this camera that I didn't know prior to purchase is that the instruction manual is easy to read and very informative. I've learned more from that than I imagined I'd learn from an instruction manual. They include a copy of it in both English and Spanish.
