a37licia's Full Review: Canon Digital Rebel XT / EOS 350D Digital Camera w...
I've had this camera for about a year and a half and previously owned a Canon film SLR. I had some experience with "old-fashioned" photography and am so glad I made the switch to DSLR (digital SLR). Canon has excellent products, and the XT is an ideal camera for someone who enjoys photography and would like to do more than the point-and-shoot style. It would be a waste of money to buy this camera to only use full auto mode all the time. There are many controls to learn and I have yet to know them all, but I find it easy to use.
The kit lens is a quality lens that will do you well until you want to upgrade to more serious lenses. It does the job really well, in my opinion, with sharpness, a range of zoom and picture quality.
Some of my favorite items are the ISO ranges, quick startup, the full manual options, quick writing time to the memory card, good battery life. It looks great too and I'm always pleased with the pictures. The options of different focusing points is great too.
The price has dropped a couple hundred since I bought mine.
I would probably buy another 350d if I ever lost this one, as opposed to getting a 400D because of the under exposure issues on the 400D.
